TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES
Zero Tolerance:
Any form of bullying or harassment is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
Definitions:
Bullying: Intimidating, degrading, offensive, or malicious behavior undermining an individual's confidence and self-esteem.
Harassment: Unwanted conduct violating a person's dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment.
Scope:
This policy applies to all employees, workers, agency staff, consultants, casual workers, volunteers, and interns, regardless of their work location.
Protected Characteristics:
Harassment based on age, disability, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation is strictly prohibited.
Proactive Employer Duty:
In compliance with the Worker Protection Act (2023), we are committed to taking all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace, including harassment by third parties such as customers or clients.
Reporting Procedures:
Informal: Employees are encouraged to address concerns directly with the individual involved or seek guidance from a manager or the designated Welfare Officer.
Formal: If informal resolution is not appropriate or successful, a formal complaint can be submitted in writing to management.
Confidentiality:
All complaints will be handled confidentially, with information shared only on a need-to-know basis.
Support:
Support is available for individuals affected by bullying or harassment, including access to counseling or guidance services.
Malicious Complaints:
False or malicious complaints may result in disciplinary action.
Training and Awareness:
Employees are required to complete regular training sessions to understand their responsibilities and the organization’s policies regarding bullying and harassment. This will be a combination of compulsory reading and in person training as part of our compulsory training days.
Employer Accountability:
The organization will conduct regular reviews and risk assessments to ensure compliance with anti-harassment duties and maintain a safe workplace for everyone.
