SAADI GYMNASTICS -  ACCESSIBILITY POLICY

This policy should be read in conjunction with our Health and Safety policy and British Gymnastics Health and Safety Policy, which we have also adopted. We endeavour to continue to improve our facility to make the building as accessible as possible. 

ACCESS TO BUILDING

Already in place

.       Double Front Door access

·       Back door fire escapes width suitable for wheelchair users

·       Floor outside and inside is level at back door (no steps/slope)

·       Flooring is easy to travel across for wheelchair users/people with mobility issues

·       6 Disabled Parking spaces available next to Centre.

·       Drop Curb to path leading to Centre.

·       Drop Off available outside Centre Doors.

 Still to put in place

TOILET AND KITCHENS

Already in place

·       Vinyl floor is level throughout reception area, kitchen and toilets

·       Doorways acceptable width for wheelchair users/people with mobility issues/people with buggies

·       Clear signage with symbols to help people with reading or cognitive problems or if English isn’t their first language

·       Wheel chair hand supports in toilet.

·       Level flooring through to toilets.

GYMNASTICS HALL AND BUILDING

Already in place

·       Lifts available to reach upper levels

·       Changes in floor surfaces mostly represented with changes in colours to aid people with visual problems

·       Changes in floor height are limited so one half of the gym is the same height flooring and can be used without steps up or down.

·       Look to introduce colour guided flooring for the visually impaired.
